King-David Olajuwon
Pieces $50 each
King-David Olajuwon is a Nigerian-born, self-taught visual
artist whose work centers Black community, memory, and care.
Since moving to Canada in 2019 and picking up his first camera in
2021, he has used photography and film to celebrate the beauty,
complexity, and everyday lives of Black people.
Rooted in a deep sense of love and responsibility,
King-David’s practice is shaped by collaboration, intuition, and a
commitment to building visual archives that affirm and uplift. His
work often blurs the line between documentation and
imagination, capturing not just how things are, but how they feel,
and how they could be.
As the founder of The Sunbeamng, he creates space for Black
stories to be seen, heard, and remembered. Through portraits,
exhibitions, and collective projects, King-David holds space for joy,
vulnerability, and the many forms that Black presence can take.
